Helianthus,

Your proper name

Born in spring and bloom in summer

Always tilting towards the sun

Maturing, you settle on the east.

I wonder how you do, how you grow

With such a strong head

On a slender stem made of leaves

What a beauty you bring to the bright green field

Giving food to chickens, cattle, and baseball stars

Spreading your love across the field

Your spiral is the perfect pattern for life.
