Day 179: If I Had One Pen

If I had one pen, I wonder what I’d write. I would want to save it for when I was eighty and write down all those words of wisdom. Yet, that day may never come. If I had one pen, I’d stop the doodling and start the carving, making every line and dot count. There would be nothing except my thoughts and voice in which to practice. Words so small. Phrases concise. I’d write about my life. Not the details but the things I learned. Hurdles overcome as proof. Hugs and kisses given to the right people. Hopes for the future. If I had one pen, I’d write about me as a reflection of you. I'd write about the beauty in the world. And I'd leave behind half the ink for someone else to finish the story.
