A boy abandoned, builds the cold metal bars,

Welding the shining armor to show off to friends

A protector for anything in which you care

Working tirelessly to give your family,

Yourself

All the gifts you never had

Misinterpreted as compassion

Our lives dictated by your imagination

Honestly dismissed with interruption

Views conflicting, stomped out with your screams

To tell the world you were still hurting

Controlling your need for approval, you

Force your hugs upon me

Telling yourself it is love when all I feel is fear

The little boy still trapped in the cage he made for himself

Screaming for someone to let him out

As he sits on the key
