Day 314: I Took a Walk Today

I took a walk today

From the edge of the yard to just past the stop sign

I walked as far as my mind could dream

I walked from the town hall to the White House

Watching the birds migrate south

I walked from Baxter to Amicalola

Taking the rocky path in stride

I walked across the plains and dessert

Heading westward until I end up where I started

I walked across the Pacific

Made some Australian friends who played the didgeridoo

Then to the Philippines and China

To walk on the Great Wall, admiring the irony of civilization

Afterward, I made a home in India

Digging for emptiness

I walked without a purpose

Sauntering around my head in the woods
