Here’s a thought:
You know how they say that when you die that your entire life flashes before your eyes, perhaps stretching on without time. I think about that and I think about what we actually experience in life. If we are living out of the moment — thinking about the past or planning the future, as I am guilty of a large portion of the day — then we are not experiencing life around us. This is perhaps yet another reason to stay in the moments of life. As we travel down the river, we are recording that which we are giving attention. But if we are off in a dream in our head, we don’t get to see that moment again. Because if all we are seeing when we die is caused by synapses firing like a thunder storm then we shall only see what we have seen.
