- It was the first time I received a medal for placing 2nd in a bike race with only two people.
- It was the first time I went to Milwaukee
- It was the first time and last time that I went on a road trip with two great friends, one of whom was getting married.
- It was the first time my friend got married.
- It was the first time my cousin got married.
- It was the first time I missed two weddings of dear friends.
- It was the first time I took a road trip with my cousin to New York from Durand.
- It was the first time I took a train from New York to Durand.
- It was the first time my niece was born.
- It was the first time my nephew was born.
- It was the first time meeting my new niece and nephew and realizing what wonderful creatures they were, besides the screaming.
- It was the first time I didn’t make or eat Christmas cookies.
- It was the first time I wrote over twenty poems in one year.
- It was the first time I lived in Alaska.
- It was the first time I went out on a trap line.
- It was the first time crossing the Yukon River on a snowmobile.
- It was the first time hanging salmon in a smokehouse.
- It was the first time student teaching.
- It was the first time seeing Star Wars Episode IX: The Rise of Skywalker.
- It was the second time seeing Star Wars Episode IX: The Rise of Skywalker.
- It was the first time going to a live wrestling event.
- It was the first time wearing a shirt with Stone Cold Steve Austin giving Santa Clause a stunner.
- It was the first time that I met someone that hated X-Pac with a passion.
- It was the first time my cousins and I stayed overnight at a hotel together.
- It was the first time it was December 31, 2019.
- It was the first time.
- And I hope they aren't the last.
